# Organizations

Organizations are the top-level business entity in Mozark.

Use them to separate teams, departments, subsidiaries, or customer groups.

### Create an organization

Create an organization with these fields:

| Field       | Description           |
| ----------- | --------------------- |
| Name        | Organization name     |
| Description | Optional details      |
| Logo        | Organization branding |
| Metadata    | Custom attributes     |

### Organization status

#### Active

The organization is available for day-to-day work.

Users can access resources and create applications and projects.

#### Archived

The organization remains available for audit history.

Archived organizations are read-only.

You cannot create resources or assign infrastructure.

### Default organization

Mark one organization as the default workspace.

This speeds up onboarding and reduces navigation steps.

### Resource summary

Each organization shows a high-level resource summary.

Review:

* applications
* projects
* users
* recent updates

### Common actions

Admins can:

* edit organization details
* set the default organization
* archive an organization
